The clinic was co-founded by Dr. Javier Gomez, DVM and his wife Karina Trillo. Dr. Gomez was born and raised in El Paso. He entered the veterinary field in 2008 as a volunteer and later as a technician at a small animal clinic. He graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. He has a special interest in emergency medicine, critical care, and internal medicine, and practices an individualized patient-guided style of medicine. Karina Trillo serves as his co-founder and strongest team advocate. The clinic also employs Dr. Afsaneh Hamed-Zanjani, DVM (born and raised in El Paso; BS in Biology from UTEP; DVM from Texas A&M University; special interests in dermatology, preventive medicine, and client education). The clinic sees dogs and cats only. Services include: wellness exams (annual for adults, every 3 weeks for puppies/kittens until 4+ months), preventive care (vaccinations, parasite prevention including fleas, ticks, and heartworms), urgent veterinary care, spay and neuter, veterinary dental care (cleanings under general anesthesia, treatment of dental disease), in-house laboratory analyzers, diagnostic imaging, soft tissue surgery, geriatric care, end-of-life care, nutrition counseling, and microchipping. The clinic operates primarily by appointment with walk-ins accommodated as schedule allows and emergency cases handled on an as-needed basis. Cancellation requires 24 hours' notice; repeat no-shows incur a schedule deposit.
