UrgentVet Frisco is an after-hours urgent care veterinary clinic for cats and dogs, located at 2727 Main Street, Suite 660, Frisco, TX 75036, near the intersection of Teel Parkway and West Main St. Founded in 2015 by Dr. Jim Dobies, DVM, and opened in the Frisco location on January 27, 2023. UrgentVet is part of the American Veterinary Group (AVG) network and operates 70+ locations across the United States. The clinic is designed as a cost-effective alternative to 24-hour emergency hospitals — treating non-life-threatening conditions at up to 40% less than ER vet costs. The clinic features dog- and cat-specific exam rooms (both large and small dog rooms), a private comfort room for end-of-life care, Fear Free Casco enclosures, advanced digital X-ray, limited ultrasound, and an in-house lab. Cloud-based medical record keeping is used and case information is shared with the pet's regular vet. 90% of patients are discharged home post-consultation. Walk-ins are always welcome; online spot-saving is available. Open 365 days a year including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Certified: Fear Free, Cat Friendly Practice (AAFP), and AVMA One Health. Conditions treated include ear infections, skin allergies, vomiting, diarrhea, UTIs, wounds, lacerations, fracture assessments, limping, lethargy, vaccine reactions, anal gland issues, and end-of-life/euthanasia services. Does NOT offer overnight hospitalization or routine preventative care. Payment accepted: CareCredit, Scratchpay, Cherry, and pet insurance. Serves Frisco, Little Elm, The Colony, Oak Point, Allen, McKinney, Prosper, Lewisville, Plano, Carrollton, and surrounding DFW communities.
