VEG is a national emergency veterinary chain treating over 300,000 emergencies per year across all locations. The Houston Medical Director is Dr. Paige Kail (DVM — Texas A&M University and Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine), a native Texan with a passion for emergency medicine, the human-animal bond, surgery, and diverse ER cases. VEG Houston provides emergency and urgent care for all types of pets including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and exotic animals. A defining feature of VEG is that pet owners stay by their pet's side the entire time — including during hospitalization. The open-concept hospital allows owners to observe all treatment. No appointments are needed — open 24/7/365 including all holidays. Services include: emergency care, exotic pet care, urgent care, end-of-life care, surgery, endoscopy, ultrasound, digital x-rays, diagnostics & testing, treatment, and in-patient hospitalization. VEG also operates a Blood Bank and a nonprofit arm called VEG Cares that supports pet guardians in financial need. VEG collaborates with family vets through full record sharing.
