Aberdeen Veterinary Hospital is a purpose-built veterinary practice in Kamloops, British Columbia, conceived and founded by Dr. Ken Gummeson and Dr. Diane McKelvey, both long-time Kamloops residents and veterinarians since the 1990s. After previously practicing together in the city and selling their interests in an earlier Kamloops practice, the pair pursued separate professional paths (Dr. McKelvey teaching small animal internal medicine in Australia; Dr. Gummeson serving as interim Registrar and inspector for the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia) before returning in 2014 to build a modern, newly renovated hospital equipped with the latest veterinary technology. The clinic now has a team of 7 full and part-time veterinarians offering medical, dental, surgical, diagnostic and urgent care services for companion animals, and has been voted Best Veterinary Clinic in Kamloops three years in a row. Clients consistently highlight the caring, unhurried, and transparent approach of the veterinary team, including compassionate end-of-life care.
